In this sharp-edged satire, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover in 1920s Chicago and finds herself in a jail filled with trickery, deals and razzle dazzle. The competition is on between Roxie and star inmate Velma Kelly as they vie for the spotlight and the headlines, all in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune and acquittal.
