"Quilters" is an intimate musical about a pioneer woman and her six daughters. It is a story of their strength in facing adversity and life's challenges while keeping alive the human spirit, blending the beauty and joy, and the harsh challenges and abiding rewards, of frontier life. "Quilters" was nominated for six 1985 Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical, and for the 1984 Helen Hayes Award for Best Musical in Washington D.C. The play received the 1983 Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh World Theatre Festival in Scotland, and the 1983 DramaLogue Award for Outstanding Achievement in Theatre in Los Angeles.
