Remember when Richard Nixon was in charge of the Free World, Communists were clearly the enemy, and presidents could be trusted? The late Art Buchwald, famous political satirist, certainly did, and his only Broadway play brings you this howlingly funny story about the tiny little country of Nonomura and their ambassador from America. When a political reporter comes in to find a story and starts a political upheaval instead, the U.S. has to step in to stop the presumed Communist threat, but can't quite figure out how. In true farce style, things go from bad to worse, between the inept Prince of the country and the corrupt commander of his army, the Ambassador's rebellious wanna-be hippie daughter, and the political reporter egging everything on.Come see democracy in action (sort of...).

Audition information:
The director is looking for a multi-ethnic cast that can properly show the cultural dichotomy inherent in this political farce. The entire play is in English, but being able to do either a regional American accent or English-as-a-second-language accent (depending on the role) would be a plus (but not required). The exact location in the world of the tiny little country of Nonomura will depend on the actors cast for the Prince and the Colonel.
